1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected through our website, our online booking platform, our contact and inquiry forms, in-person interactions at the time of rental pickup, and any other communications between you and LakeDay Kelowna Boat Rentals Inc. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that may be linked from our website, each of which is governed by its own privacy policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you make a reservation, submit a contact form, create an account, or otherwise interact with our services, we may collect the following categories of personal information: your full name, email address, telephone number, mailing or billing address, date of birth, Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) details, government-issued identification information, and any additional information you voluntarily provide in messages or communications with our team.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, certain technical information is collected automatically through cookies and similar tracking technologies. This includes your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring and exit URLs, pages viewed, date and time of your visit, time spent on each page, and other standard web analytics data. This information helps us understand how visitors interact with our website and enables us to improve the user experience.

2.3 Payment Information

All payment transactions are processed securely through Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you complete a booking, your credit card number, expiration date, and security code are transmitted directly to Stripe via encrypted connection and are never stored on our servers. We receive only limited transactional data from Stripe, including the last four digits of your card number, the card brand, and the transaction confirmation status, solely for the purpose of processing and confirming your reservation.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

Service Delivery: To process and fulfill your boat rental reservations, confirm bookings, communicate rental details, provide pre-arrival instructions, and deliver customer support throughout your experience.

Transactional Communications: To send you booking confirmations, appointment reminders, safety briefings, weather-related updates, and other essential communications related to your reservation.

4. SMS and Text Message Communications

We offer two distinct categories of SMS communications, each requiring separate and voluntary consent:

Marketing Text Messages

With your express written consent, we may send promotional text messages regarding special offers, seasonal discounts, new boats, and service updates. Message frequency varies based on promotional activity. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any marketing message.

Non-Marketing (Transactional) Text Messages

With your consent, we may send transactional text messages including booking confirmations, appointment reminders, schedule changes, weather advisories, and other time-sensitive communications directly related to your reservation. Message frequency varies based on your booking activity.

Standard message and data rates may apply as determined by your mobile carrier. We do not charge any additional fees for SMS communications. For assistance with text messaging, reply HELP to any message or contact us directly at (587) 930-6691 or [email protected]. To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any message at any time. Your consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from us.

We may share your mobile phone number only with our authorized SMS service providers (such as Twilio, Vonage, or similar platforms) solely for the purpose of delivering text messages to you on our behalf.
